#30: Mother

I’m going to go out on a limb here, as I don’t have a complete list of the prompts used to date. I hope this one hasn’t been used before. If it has, I’ll be happy to make a substitution tomorrow.

I’ve recently finished both Secret Daughter: A Mixed-Race Daughter and the Mother Who Gave Her Away and The Girls Who Went Away: The Hidden History of Women Who Surrendered Children for Adoption in the Decades Before Roe v. Wade, thus inspiring this week’s prompt: mother.

Definitely news.

Hi everyone,

Well, this is my goodbye post—Cuccu will be taking over the blog.  It might switch locations, so keep an eye open.  I appreciate her willingness to take over, and I am sure she’s going to take good care of the project Pete and I started over 7 months ago!

It’s unfortunate that I am too busy with school to keep up on something so fun and easy, but those are the breaks, as my grandfather says.  Many thanks to those of you who offered to help; I responded to the first email I got.  And many, many thanks to all of you for participating week after week and sharing your memories with everyone.

Take care!

News?

Hi everyone,

I apologize for not having posted a new topic this week…it’s been a busy week.  Quite frankly, this is hard for me to keep up with, especially with posting links, etc.  It seems like it should only take a few minutes (which it does, without the linking), but those are minutes that I could be spending doing other things.  As some of you know, I’m a full-time graduate student who is going into her thesis year.  Since starting Anamnesis, I’ve run out of minutes in the day—I’ve taken down my own blog, and very rarely get to just “have fun” on the computer.  While I love the concept of this, and would love to see everyone’s entries if I got the chance, this is starting to feel like a chore.

The point is, does anyone want to take this over?  Email me at natalieATfricativeDOTnet and I’ll hand over all the info.  I am willing to post a new prompt next week if no one takes it over by then.  So we have a little while for everyone to mull it over.

Thanks all, and I appreciate your understanding.

Natalie
